Club Gerz

Our good friend Charlie Imes will be returning to perform at Club Gerz on Friday, September 12th!! Doors will open at 5:30pm with music starting around 6:30pm.

Charlie is an award winning San Diego singer-songwriter. He blends a host of musical elements and influences into a smooth folk rock with a wonderful tropical feel. His performances are storytelling at its best, both between songs and within them. Everyone at his last performance agreed it was one of the best at Club Gerz. We are so pleased to have Charlie return to our stage!

Pennsylvania trop-rocker Randy Z will be swinging through Club Gerz as part of a Midwest tour on Saturday, September 28th!!! Doors will again open at 5:00pm with music starting around 6pm.

Randy Z has been performing professionally for over 25 years, playing for audiences from Key West to Ontario. He has performed for Parrothead Clubs across the country as well as at Meeting of the Minds. He has recorded 2 albums as part of Tropical Soul, a solo album, and is currently working on songs for a new album. Since departing Tropical Soul in 2009, Randy Z is now performing solo, playing his original music as well as an assortment of Trop-Rock, Classic Rock, Blues, Country and Americana cover songs.

Northern California trop rocker Loren Davidson will be docking at Club Gerz for his first Iowa gig on Friday, August 2nd!!! Doors will open at 5:00pm with music starting around 6pm. Loren’s laid back costal California vibe will help everyone leave their cares behind! RELAX! Take off your shoes. Pour yourself a tall, cold drink. We are very pleased to welcome perennial Radio Margaritaville favorite Scott Kirby to our back yard on Wednesday, July 17th!!! Doors will again open at 5pm and the music will begin around 6pm. Scott, a native New Englander, has made the transition to Key West quite successfully. Not only is he a popular singer/songwriter, he also is now owner of the Smokin’ Tuna Saloon, a new staple Key West watering hole, restaurant and music venue. He will be joined on our stage by long-time collaborator David Edmisten. These two combine to produce an amazing live musical experience! Check out our Events page for all the details. The snow has melted, the grass is green, and the leaves are sprouting on the trees. That means we are getting antsy for our third season here at Club Gerz. We thought we’d send out a reminder that we are here and available to help artists coming through the Des Moines area. We love music and love to do whatever we can to support Troprockers and other singer/songwriters.

We have a nice house concert venue and have hosted several artists over the last two years. In addition, we know of others in the area that are also interested in hosting house concerts and we’d love to help you get together! If you’d prefer a bar or listening room venue, we have contacts within the community and we’ll help with introductions. If you are just looking for a quiet place to overnight, we’d be happy to host you for that as well.
