It’s gonna be a busy week here in Iowa Troprock music lovers!!!
First of all, our friends Hugo Duarte and Jeff Pike (aka The Frozen Gringos) will be playing four gigs across Iowa. Thursday they will be playing at Stormy’s in Urbandale from 7-10pm. Friday will be a house concert from 6:30-10pm at Casa de Mullen in Clive. Saturday is another house concert at the famous Tiki Barn in Burlington starting at 3pm. Finally, they will be wrapping up their mini-tour with a 4:30 house concert at Deb & Doug Rassler’s in Palo.
Things will be hopping with the Des Moines Parrot Head Club too. They will have their monthly “Bored” Meeting at Jimmy’s Thursday night starting at 6:30. They also have a service project “Rebuilding Together” on Saturday starting around 8am. They will be helping a family with yard work at 2514 54th St, Des Moines. More news… The Buffett Alpine date has been released, August 24th and club tickets will be on sale so be sure to get your name on the list!
Another troprocker in the area this week is perennial Radio Margritaville favorite Scott Kirby! He will be playing solo from 6:30 to 9:30pm at The Firewater Grille in Omaha on Saturday (May 11th).
Finally, if you are going to be stuck at home on Thursday night, try tuning in to AXStv. The Zac Brown Band will be playing live from Red Rocks. A great band and a great venue! I believe it will be starting around 8:00pm.
